Success Stories

When I began working with Lorrie, I couldn’t eat. It is not that I did not want to eat, but since a car accident a year earlier it felt like food and even water would get stuck in my lower chest, and not enter my stomach.

I knew I had to eat, but there was so much discomfort when I did, I had just stopped eating for long lengths of time. Eating had become an unpleasant experience.

I visited physicians, who sent me to specialist who did extensive medical testing. After months of testing, medications and ongoing pain, I was essentially told, everything looks normal, and “you will just have to live with it.”

When I finally started seeing Lorrie for Visceral Manipulation and Craniosacral work I was frustrated and hungry. The first session was amazing, Lorrie targeted right in on the area of discomfort.

She said that a ligament associated with my liver was tight and pressing on the area where food passes from my esophagus to my stomach. I noticed improvement the moment I left that first session. The discomfort in my lower chest had diminished.

When I went home and ate it was strange to have the food actually pass into my stomach. I saw Lorrie for a total of 3 sessions and I feel great. I can eat and drink anything I like without discomfort.

I also realized that I had gone in for eating difficulties related to a car accident, but during the sessions a lot of hurt and anger came up that I had not expressed. Lorrie provided a space of safety, support and non-judgment for me to express and process those emotions.

I am so grateful for everything Lorrie has done for me. My only regret is that the visceral work was my last choice instead of my first.

THERAPEUTIC BODYWORK

You do not have to live with that nagging pain in your neck, back, hips, knees or shoulders.

If it is a recent injury or a long-term problem, Lorrie uses her skills as a physical therapist and experience in many massage and manual techniques to release deeply held muscular tension and strain, allowing your body to move freely and easily.

A bodywork session at Zenergy is more than just a massage...

Bodywork at Zenergy will release the muscles, fascia and deep structures that keep you from moving and feeling your best.

During each session Lorrie combines traditional massage techniques, myofascial release, deep tissue work, trigger point work, joint mobilization, visceral manipulation, craniosacral therapy and more. Each session is customized to meet the client’s specific preferences, needs, goals and problems. You will leave the session feeling balanced, relaxed and revitalized.

THERAPEUTIC MASSAGE

Therapeutic massage is a great way to unwind and generally release the stress of daily life. This massage focuses on relaxation, improving circulation and releasing muscular tension and stress. This session is most like a traditional full body massage.

The techniques used include light to moderate pressure and the massage strokes are full and sweeping to encourage the revitalization of body tissues. Goals for the session are established by the client and can involve more time at trouble areas and the use of deeper pressure and more structural based techniques.

CRANIOSACRAL THERAPY (CST)

Craniosacral therapy is a light touch approach that releases tension deep in the body, to alleviate pain, and dysfunction and improve whole body health and performance.

By complementing the body’s natural healing ability, CST is increasingly used as a preventive health measure for its ability to bolster the immune system, and to effect a wide range of medical problems including: headaches, TMJ, craniofacial pain, chronic neck and back pain, chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia.

Sessions are generally 55 minutes long. The recipient stays fully clothed and the emphasis is on relaxation.

VISCERAL MANIPULATION (VM)

At optimal health, the relationship between the organs (viscera) and structures of the body (muscles, membranes, fascia and bones) remains stable despite the body’s endless array of motion. Unfortunately, the small injuries and illnesses of life can accumulate in one’s body, resulting in tightness around the one or more organs.

When one organ can’t move in harmony with its surrounding tissue, it creates fixed, abnormal points of tension that the body is forced to move around. This results in chronic irritation that can pave the way to future disease, dysfunction and pain.

Visceral Manipulation (VM) is a gentle hands-on therapy that works through the body’s visceral system (the heart, liver, intestines and other internal organs) to locate and alleviate these abnormal points of tension throughout the body. The deep release experienced with VM will have you moving with freedom you have not experienced for years.

STRUCTURAL BODYWORK

Structural bodywork sessions focus on improving the overall alignment of muscle, joints and posture. The sessions are target-oriented and utilizes deep tissue release techniques.

Generally, the client comes in with a specific area of pain or dysfunction. Following a short interview, Lorrie assess the alignment of your body structures, creates a plan and performs techniques to release the muscle, fascia and deep connective tissue structures that hold your body in dysfunctional and often painful positions.

These sessions will vary from deep techniques to very light hands on. Many clients describe the possible discomfort experienced during these sessions as “it hurts, but it is a good hurt. ”, or “It is uncomfortable now, but I always feel much better after it is done.”

Usually the entire session is spent on the specific area of pain and any other structures that may be contributing to the pain. (i.e. a non-painful rib alignment problem that is causing neck pain). Structural bodywork is not for everyone. However, it is extremely effective in addressing long-standing areas of pain, dysfunction or poor body alignment.

Instruction for exercises and stretching are including during the structural bodywork session. To achieve maximum benefit from the structural work, it is strongly recommended that the bodywork sessions be followed by exercise sessions to retraining the targeted muscles, and the nervous system to maintain the newly acquired position with everyday activities.

The number of bodywork sessions recommended varies based on the client, the number of areas to be addressed and how long the area has been problematic. However, anticipate at least three 75-90 minute sessions.

SERVICE FEES FOR ALL SESSIONS
 $65 for 55 minutes, $75 for 70 minutes, or $90 for 85 minutes
