Success StoriesAll my life I have been physically active and fit. However, as the years have crept upon me, and life grew more complicated, I noticed a gradual but definite decline in many areas that in my youth never seemed to be a problem to manage: weight gain, loss of strength and coordination, less stamina, aches and pains, and a general sense of slowing down and losing control of my health. At age 56 I knew I was too young to be old. I realized that I could not rely on the ways I had taken care of myself in the past, so along with some friends, I signed up in Lorrie’s beginning Pilates class once a week. Even the first session changed my outlook. The fact that I had made a decision to be proactive and take charge of my body took away much of the guilt and fear of what was ahead of me. A year and a half later, I am still participating in class and I have added a private session each week as well. I have made a commitment that I must do this for myself for the rest of my life. As a result of Lorrie’s guidance, I am getting stronger, more flexible, I have better self-image, better habits and because of her expertise in physical therapy, many of my problem areas have been cured or improved. I am also getting a great education in anatomy and physiology of the body, which has helped me understand the “whys” of her directions. I have re-learned that there are no shortcuts to health. There is no downtime. If I am not progressing — I am automatically going backward — and I know I DO NOT like to lose ground that I have worked so hard to gain. I know that if I am physically fit, I am more likely to be mentally and emotionally fit as well, and I am looking forward to the next 40 years of my life because I can see so many possibilities wide open — just for me. These controlled movements help eliminate patterns that linger in your body from old injuries, illness or premature aging. Once you learn the Pilates technique it will change how you move on a daily basis.
Benefits you will enjoy include:
Relaxed power and strength
Easy, comfortable movement
Strong core
Trim waistline
Long, lean, flexible muscles

Pilates Equipment Circut Training Class
The Pilates Equipment Circuit Training Class is specifically designed for the Pilates client who wants to add variety and challenge to their repertoire.
Clients use Joseph Pilates’ Reformer, Cadillac, Combo Chair and Half Barrel (or Spine Corrector). The class is a full body balanced workout and includes deep, dynamic core control, spine mobility, full body flexibility, and lengthened, powerful movements of the upper and lower torso.
Clients that use the Pilates equipment say, “ I love this workout because it stretches and strengthens at the same time.” Participants also report feeling longer, stronger and more balanced following their workout.
With her physical therapy experience Lorrie modifies the exercises for beginner to advanced levels making the workout safe and effective for all populations. Due to the group setting some prior Pilates experience is required. If you are not familiar with Pilates a solo or semi-private session, or a beginner Pilates mat class is a great way to get started.
To allow ample time for hands-on curing and instruction this class is limited to 4 people. Reserving your space in the class is required.
Joseph Pilates developed numerous pieces of large and small equipment to help his clients rehabilitate and strengthen their bodies. The purpose of the Pilates equipment is to learn or regain, efficient, healthy movement patterns.
The equipment is incredibly versatile and has the unique benefit of assisting one to work their muscles and joints through a full range of motion. This results in a workout that simultaneously strengthens and stretches your body.
When you finish a workout on the Cadillac (trapeze table), Reformer, Combo Chair, Half Barrel, and Ladder Barrel you will feel strong, flexible, relaxed and centered.
No previous experience with Pilates is necessary to workout on the Pilates equipment. Doing solo session provides the freedom to begin at your perfect level and advance forward at the perfect pace for you.
